Step-by-step recipe

check things off as you go
  1. Preheat the oven

Set the oven to 240 °C (or its max) with the baking sheet inside so it heats up.

  2. Make the tomato sauce

In the small bowl, stir the tomato paste with 2 tbsp of water, a pinch of salt and some pepper, and half the olive oil.

Tip · Add the water little by little to get a thick, spreadable sauce, otherwise the crust gets soggy.
  3. Roll out the dough

Roll each of the 2 doughs into a thin circle on parchment paper, leaving a slightly thicker edge.

  4. Top the pizzas

Spread the sauce over the 2 crusts, using up all of it. Tear the mozzarella into pieces and scatter it, then add the parmesan: half on each pizza.

  5. Bake the pizzas

Slide the pizzas with their paper onto the hot baking sheet. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, until the edges are golden and the cheese is melted.

  6. Finish and serve

Take the pizzas out, lay on the prosciutto in strips and the sliced or torn basil. Drizzle with the rest of the olive oil and add pepper.

Tip · Add the prosciutto after baking: in the oven it dries out and gets too salty.
