Your recipes

The ones in your plan, your favorites and your own recipes, with their original text and your units.

Your diet and allergies

Vegetarian, gluten-free, nut-free… Popotam picks it all up, no questions asked.

Foods you skip

The ingredients you'd ruled out stay far away from your plate.

Your household

How many people you cook for, so the amounts come out just right.

What doesn't come over?

We'd rather be upfront about it.

Your photos

They belong to Mealime, so they stay there. Your recipes get a cute Popotam drawing instead.

Your password and email

Popotam never reads them, and doesn't even need them: it works without an account!

How do you bring your Mealime recipes over?

Two ways, depending on the device you've got handy.

On a computer 2 minutes

  1. Drag the button to your bookmarks bar

In Popotam, grab the “Bring to Popotam” button and drop it on your bookmarks bar. You only do this once.

  2. Open Mealime and click the bookmark

Log in to Mealime in the tab Popotam opens for you, then click “Bring to Popotam”. Boom, everything comes over in one go!

  3. Check what Popotam found

Everything's checked already: uncheck what you don't want to keep, a preference or a recipe.

  4. You're all set!

Your recipes are waiting in “My cookbook”, and your preferences are already set in your space.

What happens after the import?

Nothing to redo, promise: Popotam starts from what you already had.

FAQ

Is Mealime really shutting down?

Yep. Mealime shuts down on October 21, 2026 and will delete its users' data, with no export button. That's why Popotam built this little moving service for you!

Is it free?

Totally! Importing is free, like all of Popotam: no paid plan, no hidden subscription.

Do I need an account?

Nope! Popotam works without an account: your meal plan lives behind a private link you keep. If you want, you can add your email to find it again later.

Do my recipes stay in English?

Yes. On a device set to English, your recipes keep their original English text, and Popotam shows quantities in cups and ounces or in grams, your call. Behind the scenes it also keeps a French copy, used for calories and prices.

What about my favorite recipes?

They come too! Mealime only keeps their number, so Popotam finds each recipe on mealime.com's public pages, as long as they exist, then you pick the ones to keep.

What exactly does the bookmark read?

Just what your move needs: the recipes in your plan, your favorites, your own recipes, your diet, your allergies, the foods you skip and how many people you cook for. It never reads your password or your email, and sends nothing anywhere except to Popotam.

What about after October 21?

The “Bring to Popotam” button won't have anything to bring once Mealime closes its doors. But no worries: your PDFs will still import. Keep them somewhere safe!

Is Popotam affiliated with Mealime?

Not at all! Popotam is an independent app that just gives you a hand keeping your recipes.
