Terms of use
What Popotam offers you, what you can expect from it, and how donations work.
Who publishes Popotam
Popotam is published by Jérémy Pierre (Youmax, sole proprietorship), SIRET 878 615 780 00029. Contact: contact@youmax.fr. The other legal information (host, intellectual property) is in the legal notice.
These terms apply to the popotam.fr website, the web app and the Popotam apps on Google Play and the App Store. By using Popotam, you accept them.
What Popotam offers you
Popotam helps you plan your meals: weekly menus, recipes, shopping list, batch cooking, meals with guests, and the other features described on the site.
Popotam is free, with no account and no ads. There is no paid plan: every feature is the same for everyone, whether you donate or not.
Your meal plan and its secret link
Your meal plan isn't tied to an account: it lives behind a secret link. Anyone with that link can see and edit the plan. Keep it for yourself and the people you share it with, like your household.
If you lose that link, Popotam can only send it back if you saved and confirmed an email address. Keep it in your bookmarks, or save your address.
A meal plan left without a visit for a year is deleted, as described in the privacy policy. You can also delete it yourself at any time.
Menus, recipes and numbers: a guide
Some menus and recipes are put together by artificial intelligence. Popotam checks what it suggests (diets, excluded foods, cooking times), but mistakes can still happen: read the recipe before you cook.
Allergies and diets: Popotam does its best to respect them, but it doesn't know the exact ingredients of the products you buy. Always check the labels, especially with an allergy or for a guest.
Calories and nutrition: the numbers come from the ANSES Ciqual table and are estimates. They aren't medical advice. If you follow a diet for your health, a pregnancy or a treatment, your doctor's or dietitian's advice comes before Popotam's.
Prices: these are average in-store prices (Open Prices and INSEE), adjusted to your country. Your receipt may be different.
Dish photos: these are illustrations generated by artificial intelligence, not photos of the real dishes.
What you add
The recipes you write, import or keep in your book, your notes, your photos and everything you add stay yours. Popotam only uses them to provide the service, and never publishes them.
When you import a recipe from a website or a video, it's for your personal use: respect its author's rights, and don't share their recipe as if it were yours.
Don't add anything illegal or hurtful, or information about other people without their consent. For “We're hosting!”, only write down what the meal needs about your guests' allergies or diets.
Donations
Popotam runs on donations from whoever wants to give. A donation is a free gesture: it's one-off, with no subscription, and gives no extra feature or anything in return.
On the website, a donation goes through Stripe (from $1 to $99). In the Android app, it goes through Google Play (from $1 to $49). The payment also follows Stripe's or Google Play's terms.
Made a mistake (wrong amount, double donation)? Write to contact@youmax.fr within 14 days: we'll refund you. In the Android app, you can also ask Google Play for a refund, under its rules.
What donations pay for (server, AI, domain name) is published every month on the “What Popotam costs” page.
Messages and notifications
Popotam only writes to you if you asked it to: the confirmation of your address, the messages you chose, and a single message before deleting a meal plan left a year without a visit. Notifications are only sent if you allowed them on your device. You can stop everything at any time.
A service that changes
Popotam is made by one person and gets better often: features arrive, others change or go away. It can also be unavailable for a while, for an update or an outage. We do our best to keep that rare, without being able to guarantee it.
If Popotam ever had to stop, you would be told in advance on the site, with time to get your recipes back.
Liability
Popotam is a helping tool: you choose what you cook, buy and eat. The publisher can't be held liable for harm linked to a recipe, an ingredient, a price or the service being unavailable, except in case of its own fault and within the limits set by law.
Nothing in these terms takes away the rights the law gives you as a consumer.
Your data
What Popotam keeps, why, for how long and with whom is detailed in the privacy policy.
If these terms change
These terms may change along with Popotam. The update date is at the top of this page; if an important change concerns you, it will be announced in the app.
Governing law
These terms are governed by French law. If there's a problem, write to contact@youmax.fr first: we'll find a solution together. Failing that, the dispute will be brought before the competent courts.
