Step-by-step recipe

  1. Peel and chop

Peel the onion and cut it into small dice. Peel the carrots and cut them into small 5 mm cubes.

  2. Cook the onion

Heat the olive oil in the skillet over medium heat. Add the diced onion and cook for 2 min without letting it brown.

  3. Add the carrots

Add the carrots to the skillet with the onion. Cook for 3 min over medium heat, stirring now and then.

Tip · To keep the carrots from sticking, stir them regularly with the wooden spoon once they start to soften.
  4. Add the rice and curry

Add the rice to the skillet with the vegetables. Sprinkle with curry powder and mix well to coat the grains.

  5. Add water and cook the rice

Add 250 ml of water to the skillet with a pinch of salt and bring to a boil. Cover and cook over low heat for 15 min without touching it.

Tip · If the rice hasn't absorbed all the water after 15 min, cook it 2-3 min longer, covered, without lifting the lid.
  6. Add the drained lentils

Open the can of lentils, drain them well and add them to the skillet with the rice. Mix gently and cook for 2 more min over low heat.

  7. Adjust the seasoning

Taste and adjust the salt and pepper if needed. If the mixture is too dry, add a little hot water.

And there you go, it's readyCheck off every step to celebrate.
