Step-by-step recipe

check things off as you go
  1. Preheat the oven

Turn the oven to 220 °C (gas mark 7-8) and put the rack in the middle. Make the pizza while it heats.

  2. Roll out the dough

Unroll the dough onto the baking sheet, with its parchment paper. If you don't have paper, lightly oil the sheet with a little of the olive oil (keep the rest for the salad).

Tip · Unroll the dough right on its parchment paper, it comes off more easily and you don't need to grease the sheet.
  3. Add the sauce and ham

Spread the 10 cl of tomato sauce over the whole crust, leaving a 1 cm border. Cut the ham into strips and scatter it over the sauce.

  4. Add the cheeses

Break the mozzarella over the whole pizza, then sprinkle on the shredded Swiss cheese and crumbled blue cheese. Add a little pepper, and go easy on the salt since the blue cheese and ham are already salty.

  5. Bake the pizza

Slide the sheet onto the middle rack at 220 °C until the edges are golden and the cheese is fully melted.

Tip · Start checking the pizza at 10 minutes, since your oven may run hotter than expected and blue cheese browns fast.
  6. Make the salad

While it bakes, thinly slice the red onion. Toss it with the lettuce, the rest of the olive oil, a pinch of salt and some pepper.

  7. Serve

Take the pizza out, let it rest 2 minutes, then slice it. Serve with the salad.
