Step-by-step recipe

  1. Preheat the oven

Turn the oven on to 180 °C right away, it needs to be nice and hot when the dish goes in. Also fill the saucepan with water and put it on to boil.

  2. Cook the pasta

Salt the boiling water, drop in the 130 g of pasta and cook it 2 minutes less than the package says, since it finishes cooking in the oven. Drain.

Tip · Stop cooking the pasta before it's tender, or it'll be soft after its time in the oven.
  3. Prep the tomatoes

Cut the 200 g of cherry tomatoes in half. Wash the basil and pick the leaves, then thinly slice half of them.

  4. Drain the tuna

Open the 2 cans of water-packed tuna, drain them well and flake the meat into a bowl with a fork.

Tip · Press the tuna well in the colander or with the can lid, or the water will make the gratin soggy.
  5. Make the sauce

In the mixing bowl, mix the crème fraîche, 6 cl of low-fat milk, salt and pepper. Add the sliced basil.

  6. Assemble the gratin

Oil the dish with 1 tablespoon of olive oil. In the mixing bowl, toss the pasta, tuna, tomatoes and sauce, then pour it all into the dish.

  7. Add the cheese

Sprinkle all 40 g of shredded cheese over the top. Drizzle with the 2nd tablespoon of olive oil.

  8. Bake until golden

Bake at 180 °C until the top is golden and the edges are bubbling. Take the dish out and scatter the rest of the whole basil leaves on top.

And there you go, it's readyCheck off every step to celebrate.
