  1. Dice the carrot and onion

Peel the carrot and onion. Cut them into small, even 5 mm cubes on the cutting board.

  2. Cook the vegetables

In the nonstick skillet, heat the oil over medium heat. Add the diced carrot and onion and cook for 3 min, stirring with the wooden spoon.

  3. Add the ground beef

Stir the ground beef into the skillet. Brown it for 5 min over medium heat, stirring to break up any clumps.

Tip · To keep the beef from releasing too much water, don't pack it down in the skillet with the spoon.
  4. Add the tomatoes

Add the crushed tomatoes to the skillet. Mix well with the meat and vegetables. Season lightly with salt and pepper.

  5. Simmer the sauce

Bring to a boil, then turn the heat to the lowest setting. Simmer covered for 20 min, stirring now and then.

Tip · If the sauce gets too thick, add 2 to 3 tbsp of hot water while it cooks.
  6. Boil the pasta

While the sauce simmers, bring 1.5 L of water to a boil in the saucepan. Add a pinch of salt and the pasta. Cook for 8 to 10 min, following the package.

  7. Drain the pasta

When the pasta is al dente, tip it into the colander to drain. Give it a shake to remove the extra water.

  8. Toss pasta and sauce

Put the pasta back in the hot saucepan or in a dish. Spoon the Bolognese sauce over the top and mix well.

And there you go, it's readyCheck off every step to celebrate.
