  1. Chop the onion

Peel the onion and cut it into small, even cubes with the knife on the cutting board.

  2. Cook the onion

Heat the oil in the nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add the diced onion and cook it for 2 min without letting it brown.

Tip · If the onion starts to stick, turn the heat down a bit and add 1 tbsp of water to the skillet.
  3. Add the tomatoes

Add the crushed tomatoes to the skillet with the onion. Let it simmer over low heat, stirring with the wooden spoon.

  4. Add the lentils

Stir the drained lentils into the skillet. Mix well and let it warm for 2 min so the flavors come together.

  5. Cook the pasta

Meanwhile, bring 1.5 L of water to a boil in the saucepan. Add a pinch of salt and the pasta. Cook it for 8 to 10 min, depending on how al dente you like it.

  6. Drain the pasta

Once the pasta is cooked, tip it into the colander to drain. Save a little cooking water.

  7. Toss it all together

Add the drained pasta to the skillet with the lentils and tomatoes. Stir gently. If needed, add a little cooking water to adjust the texture.

Tip · For a creamier dish, lightly mash half of the lentils with a fork before tossing them with the pasta.
  8. Season

Taste and adjust the seasoning with a pinch of salt and pepper. Serve right away.

And there you go, it's readyCheck off every step to celebrate.
