  1. Cook the rice

Rinse the basmati rice under cold water until the water runs clear. In the saucepan, bring 400 ml of water to a boil with a pinch of salt. Add the rice, cover and cook over low heat for 12 minutes. Turn off the heat and let it rest 10 minutes covered.

Tip · To keep the rice from sticking, rinse it well before cooking and use the right amount of water (2 volumes of water for 1 volume of rice).
Tip · If you want softer fried rice, add a splash of water or broth to the skillet at the end and cover for 2 minutes.
  2. Prep the veggies

Peel and finely slice the onion. In the nonstick skillet, heat the sunflower oil over medium heat. Add the onion and cook 3 minutes until translucent.

  3. Add the peas and carrots

Add the frozen peas and carrots to the skillet with the onion. Cook them over medium heat for 5 minutes, stirring now and then.

  4. Beat the eggs

In a bowl, beat the eggs like for an omelet with a pinch of salt and pepper. Pour the mixture into the skillet with the veggies and stir well. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, for 2 minutes until the eggs are set.

  5. Stir in the rice

Add the cooked rice to the skillet with the eggs and veggies. Pour in the soy sauce and stir well to spread the flavors. Heat over low heat for 3 minutes, stirring.
