Step-by-step recipe

check things off as you go
  1. Preheat the oven

Turn the oven on to 220 °C (gas mark 7). Let it heat for 10 minutes so it's nice and hot.

  2. Roll out the dough

Take the pizza dough out of its package and place it on a lightly oiled baking sheet. Stretch it with your fingers into a circle about 25 cm across.

  3. Spread the tomato sauce

With a spoon, spread the tomato sauce over the whole dough, leaving a 1 cm border. Spread it well so there are no dry spots.

Tip · For a tastier sauce layer, spread it from the center out to the edges so you don't tear the dough.
  4. Add the ham

Cut the ham into small pieces with the knife on the cutting board. Scatter them evenly over the sauce.

  5. Drain the mozzarella

Take the mozzarella out of its package and drain it by gently squeezing it in your hands to get rid of extra liquid.

  6. Add the mozzarella

Cut the mozzarella into thin slices or small pieces. Scatter them over the ham, covering the whole pizza.

  7. Season and brush with oil

Sprinkle the dried oregano over the pizza. With a brush, coat the edges of the dough with a little olive oil.

  8. Bake the pizza

Slide the baking sheet with the pizza into the hot oven. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted.

Tip · If the cheese isn't melting enough, bake it 2-3 minutes longer, but keep an eye on it so it doesn't burn.
  9. Serve hot

Carefully take the pizza out of the oven. Let it rest for 2 minutes before cutting it into slices with a knife.
