Step-by-step recipe

check things off as you go
  1. Cook the pasta

Bring 1 l of water to a boil in the saucepan. Add a pinch of salt and the whole wheat pasta. Let it cook 10 min over medium heat, uncovered.

  2. Drain the pasta

Pour the pasta into the colander to drain off the water. Set it aside in a bowl.

  3. Sauté the garlic

In the skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and cook 1 min without letting it brown.

Tip · To keep the garlic from burning, turn down the heat as soon as it starts to sizzle.
  4. Add the spinach

Add the fresh spinach to the skillet with the garlic. Sauté 2 min over high heat until it wilts.

  5. Stir in the chickpeas

Drain the canned chickpeas and add them whole to the skillet with the spinach. Mix well.

Tip · If you want more flavor, lightly mash half of the chickpeas with a fork before adding them.
  6. Season the mix

Add a pinch of salt and pepper. Stir again to spread the flavors around.

  7. Bring the pasta and veggies together

Add the pasta you set aside to the skillet with the spinach and chickpeas. Toss it all over low heat for 2 min to warm through.

And there you go, it's readyCheck off every step to celebrate.
