  1. Preheat the oven

Turn the oven on to 180°C (thermostat 6).

  2. Peel the vegetables

Peel the zucchini and potatoes. Cut them into 3 mm thick rounds.

  3. Sauté the potatoes

Heat the olive oil in the skillet over medium heat. Add the potatoes and sauté for 5 min without browning.

Tip · To keep the potatoes from sticking, stir them regularly while they cook.
  4. Add the zucchini

Add the zucchini rounds to the skillet with the potatoes. Stir well.

  5. Cook, covered

Cover the skillet and cook for 10 min over low heat to soften the vegetables.

  6. Transfer to the dish

Transfer the vegetables to the baking dish. Spread them out evenly.

  7. Make the cream

In a bowl, mix the crème fraîche with the nutmeg, salt and pepper.

  8. Top the gratin

Spoon the cream over the vegetables, spreading it well. Sprinkle with half the grated Comté.

  9. Bake the gratin

Put the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 30 min.

Tip · If the top isn't browning enough, slide the dish under the broiler for 2 min, keeping an eye on it.
  10. Brown the top

Take the gratin out, sprinkle with the rest of the Comté and put it back in the oven for 5 min to brown.

And there you go, it's readyCheck off every step to celebrate.
